Helpful Hints

We do too much for our kids these days, give them the opportunity to shine and gain pride in what they can do for themselves, no matter how small the accomplishment.

Stock up on regular items you buy, have a way for the whole family to monitor this such as a shopping list handy to everyone.

Record favourite TV programs and watch without the commercials, on your schedule.

Eliminate Clutter in just 10 minutes at a time this way it will not feel as overwhelming, put on the timer and just start with a small pile.  After just one week you will see an improvement!

Laundry

Do it all on one day weekly and plan to do some of your TV or Movie watching that night.

Wash and dry everything through out the day, just keep it moving, each room should have it’s own basket.  Later that night while watching TV or talking on the phone fold all items sorting them by room.  Stack items as they would go into the drawers socks together, shirt, pants ect., hanging items fold long ready for hanging and place on top so not to wrinkle.

Each room should have a basket to return, if the children are old enough 7 and up they should be putting it away themselves.  For younger children 0 to 2 your on the job for now.  However from 2 to 6 they may require assistance but this is an excellent opportunity to develop a good habit.  After the age of 12 they should be doing the laundry, you deserve a break!!!
